Q: How many staff members and paging areas can Venga support?
A: There is no limit to the number of staff members and paging areas that Venga can support. Your computer screen’s available space is the only limiting factor.
Q: Is it possible to have smaller buttons on the paging console?
A: Absolutely. Venga's console is extremely flexible. Each user can dynamically set the size of Venga's buttons and adjust the column layout to configuration that suits them best. To see some of the screen layouts that are available in Venga, click here.
Q: Is there a way to hide Venga or only have it visible only when it is active?
A: Yes. Venga can be "hidden" to the Windows System Tray (the lower right-hand corner of the screen). When a page is issued, a balloon message will appear in the lower right hand corner of the screen showing who the page is for and where they are being paged.
Q: How do Venga Lite, Venga, and Venga Mobile differ?
A: Click here to view the feature comparison.
Q: Is it possible to add my own custom sounds to Venga?
A: Yes. Venga uses a Windows standard sound file format known as a WAV file. It is possible to install your own custom WAV files and use them as paging sounds.
Q: Will Venga affect my network performance?
A: Venga was designed specifically with your network’s performance in mind. Network communications are kept to a minimum and occur only when needed.

Your server's operating system is one of the most critical factors in network performance. If the Venga Server software is installed on a true server operating system such as: Windows NT 4 Server, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, there will be virtually no impact on your network.

Non-server operating systems such as: Windows 98, Windows ME, Window 2000 Pro, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro, have limited networking capabilities. Networking functionality is restricted on these operation systems. In general, if your network consists of 5 or more computers you should strongly consider installing a server operating system.

Technical info:
Microsoft imposes a limit on all non-server operating systems, limiting them to a maximum of 10 concurrent network connections. A connection "includes all transports and resource sharing protocols" according to the Microsoft Knowledge Base, Article #122920.
